Comparison of “Deep Learning” and “Machine Learning” with language acquisition

Language acquisition methods have analogies with “deep learning” and “machine learning”

Deep learning and machine learning are two approaches to AI, each with their own strengths and areas of application. The analogy to language acquisition illustrates that Deep Learning is based on unstructured data and enables implicit learning, similar to learning one’s native language. Machine learning, on the other hand, uses structured data and requires explicit learning, similar to learning a foreign language in school. This analogy can help to better understand the operation and scope of these two approaches.
